Our Mission Statement

We are an independent American international college preparatory school, sharing facilities with the Cité Scolaire Internationale, and serving the needs of the English-speaking expatriate community of the Grenoble area. Our scholastic environment enables students to develop the knowledge, learning skills and curiosity they need to become international citizens of an open, evolving world.

Home

The American School of Grenoble was founded in 1993 as a response to the needs of the Grenoble area English-speaking business community. Today the American School of Grenoble serves as an independent, non-denominational, non-profit, college preparatory coeducational school. We are the only middle and high school in the Grenoble area offering all of our classes in English. Our goal is to enable students to reintegrate into any English speaking school and to prepare its high school students for higher education while providing a structure where students will acquire the added benefit of cultural, linguistic and intellectual diversity.

A School Within A School

The American School of Grenoble serves the needs of the transitory Anglo-speaking business community of Grenoble.

We have partnered with the French National Education system, and as such are hosted by and situated within a large French public high school, the Cité Scolaire Internationale, or CSI. Our students are engaged in everyday student life at the CSI, through classes taught in French as well as sharing their facilities, and truly benefit from the immersion in the French culture and language. For more information on the resources offered, visit the page about the school environment.

A Quality Education

Our college preparatory curriculum culminates with the American high school diploma. It includes Humanities, Social Sciences, Math, Sciences, Communication, French and various electives. Our small student-teacher ratio enables the teachers to tailor their teaching to meet the needs of individual students. For more information on our faculty and some of the classes offered during the 2009-2010 school year, please visit the Classes & Faculty page.

Admissions & Tuition

The American School of Grenoble is open to all middle and high school students from around the world. Non-native speakers will be offered English-language assessment tests in order to assess their level and provide the appropriate ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes if necessary.

You may apply online, or download and print the necessary application forms. For more information please see our Admissions page.

Basic participation fees of €3000 will be charged for the 2010-2011 school year.  Additional fees may be required for class trips, ESOL and special events.
